LEGO NINJAGO City Gardens Display Cases: 71741 and Floor Access

Plan a LEGO NINJAGO City Gardens 71741 case. Compare internal sizes, conflicting stud counts, lift-off floors, the rear ladder and cover access.

LEGO NINJAGO City Gardens Display Cases: 71741 and Floor Access

A LEGO NINJAGO City Gardens display case must receive the complete 71741 build and still have a practical opening routine. The tall closed model, its lift-off tiers and its rear ladder create separate checks. Start with 71741 alone before assuming a themed case also covers City, City Docks or a joined scene.

Use 71741 and one defined surrounding scene

LEGO’s official City Gardens specification identifies five lift-off tiers, a rear ladder that moves up and down, and nineteen minifigures. Its descriptive size line gives the ninja house as over H73 × L44 × W33 cm. Retain those labels rather than silently changing the long side into a new front-facing axis.

The page’s separate dimensions widget uses width and depth labels differently for the same horizontal values. Choose one attributed reference consistently and ask the case supplier for a labelled plan showing the intended orientation. Neither representation measures a custom joined street or the space needed to lift a level.

List anything you intend to retain outside the normal building outline: figures, a separate plaque, surrounding scenery or another set. If you want City Gardens beside City or City Docks, decide whether each has its own case or whether you are requesting one shared enclosure. Those are different complete footprints.

Floor removal and ladder movement need their own routes

Three tasks beyond viewing the closed building
TaskRecord from the actual buildQuestion for the enclosure
Show a complete tall sceneHighest retained detail, full base and figure positions. What is the clear cavity above the actual finished base?
Lift an upper tierThe permitted model handling sequence and a place for removed sections.Which enclosure part must come away before the tier can rise?
Reach the rear ladderChosen ladder state, rear projection and intended hand approach. Can it be reached after the case is opened as instructed?

Do not interpret a case height near 78 cm as an operating allowance over a reference described as over 73 cm. That difference does not describe the actual highest point, lifting distance, hand approach or path past the surrounding panels.

A rear view is another choice. A background may complement the front architecture while obscuring the ladder or the back of a room. Decide which view matters before choosing artwork, then confirm access separately. Transparent rear material does not provide a rear door by itself.

Keep internal dimensions separate from the tall exterior

These supplier descriptions were read on 18 October 2026. They are published specifications, not physical fit or access tests. Approximate dimensions, source axes and missing exterior fields remain attached to each entry.

iDisplayit 71741Inside L52 × W39 × H78 cm; outside L54 × W41 × H79 cm.65 × 48 studs, twenty fittings and top secured to the surround.
ElevenMark NINJAGO categoryThirteen cards across sets, figures, a coin and wall-frame formats.Read the exact 71741 product; category count is not a Gardens receiving size.
Kingdom Brick Supply 71741Approximate inside L520 × W390 × H780 mm.64 × 48 studs and twenty screws; keep the stud-line disagreement visible.

Songlection’s metric inside tuple is retained above. The page also gives rounded imperial values; do not mix one inch value with the centimetre line to create a tighter or supposedly more precise cavity. Ask for the complete outside dimensions for the actual supplied base.

ElevenMark’s category contains many NINJAGO receiving tasks, including minifigures, another anniversary display and a ship wall frame. Thirteen catalogue cards do not establish thirteen interchangeable 71741 cases. A theme name or displayed price is not a current product specification or availability promise.

Retain the 64-versus-65 stud disagreement

iDisplayit lists a 65 × 48-stud area, while Kingdom Brick Supply lists 64 × 48 studs. Their published metric internal sequences match after a straightforward unit conversion: 52/39/78 cm and 520/390/780 mm. The stud-area statements still disagree.

Do not silently replace one number, assume the physical versions are identical or use a conversion to declare the base verified. Send the selected supplier your actual 71741 layout and request one consistent labelled receiving drawing covering the inside, base edge, fittings and stud-area description.

The stud line does not describe the upper building’s projections or the ladder’s operation. Nor does a screw count supply a usable opening. Keep those fields separate so an apparently familiar base size does not conceal an unanswered access question.

Choose the case location with its cover routine in mind

Wicked Brick describes lifting its clear surround from the base and returning it to grooves. Check that complete route above and around the tall model and identify somewhere the surround can rest. A low shelf above the closed case can defeat that routine.

iDisplayit says its top is secured to the rest of the enclosure. Confirm the intended routine opening rather than treating the top as a loose lid. Its twenty fittings describe assembly, not a new instruction to undo arbitrary joints for every model change.

Both iDisplayit and Kingdom Brick Supply say the cited case is not designed to be relocated with LEGO inside. Retain that restriction when choosing the final position. Generic easy-relocation or stacking language elsewhere does not supply a loaded carrying method or a documented stacking load.

Wicked Brick suggests displaying this case alongside City and City Docks. “Alongside” does not mean all three builds fit within its 71741 enclosure or that separate bases make a continuous joined street. Request a complete multi-set plan if that is the intended task.

The City Gardens floor and case worksheet keeps exact set, tiers, rear ladder, stud disagreement and opening together. Use the LEGO shelf case guide for the confirmed exterior and the display lighting guide for viewing and reflections. Printed backgrounds are appearance choices, not tested protection ratings.

Common questions

Does a 78 cm internal height establish floor-removal room?

It describes static receiving height. Check the actual tier, lifting route and enclosure-opening routine separately.

Should I correct the reseller’s stud count myself?

Keep the two source statements and ask for a consistent current drawing for the selected product.
