LEGO DeLorean Display Cases: 10300 Versions and Stand Fit

Compare DeLorean 10300 cases by film parts, wheel state, stand inclusion and minifigure layout. Keep 77256 separate and check clear space before choosing scenery.

LEGO DeLorean Display Cases: 10300 Versions and Stand Fit

Choose a LEGO DeLorean display case around the exact set and film configuration. For the large 10300 Time Machine, define the wheel state, doors, film-specific parts, stand and minifigure positions together. A case shown with a hovering car may include a support, sell it separately or leave its inclusion unclear.

10300 and 77256 are separate products

The official 10300 reference gives a model over H12 × L35 × W19 cm. It describes building one of three film versions, opening gull-wing doors, fold-down tires for flight mode, an opening hood and Doc and Marty minifigures. The quoted dimensions are not a fit drawing for every combination of those features.

Read the actual set number on both the model and the case page. A DeLorean title or a Back to the Future background does not distinguish the large 10300 from the separate 77256. An enclosure identified for one is not documented compatibility for the other.

The Elevenmark display article recommends a wall frame for 10300 and a case for 77256. These are that seller's preferred formats, rather than a rule that the larger set cannot use a tabletop enclosure. The other cited case pages explicitly identify 10300.

Its linked 77256 case page has a 77256 title but includes feature text naming a different 77252 race car. Do not silently repair the mismatch or transfer its precise size line into a 10300 shortlist. Ask the supplier to identify the actual product and compatible set.

Choose the film parts before the artwork

10300 film configurations and the display questions they create
FilmOfficial distinguishing detailsWhat to record for the scene
First filmLightning rod and plutonium chamber.Whether the rod is fitted, its complete upper outline and the intended cover route.
Part IIMr. Fusion and hover conversion with folding tires.Actual tire state, support version, car angle and the occupied space of the supported arrangement.
Part IIIWhitewall tires and hood-mounted circuit board.Fitted film parts, hood and door states, and whether accessories are beside the model.

These are three choices for one build, not three complete cars supplied together. A case description offering several background designs does not change that. Keep spare configuration pieces separately recorded rather than scattering them into a scene whose fit has only been checked for the car.

For an everyday display, decide whether the doors stay down or form a defined raised pose. Flight-mode tires and a raised stand are also distinct choices: folding the tires does not supply support or prove the car can stand in that position unaided. Follow the actual support instructions.

Choose the scene first and then its background. A clock tower, skyway or western image can match a film version, but artwork does not document the position of a stand or the height of a lightning rod.

Compare the supplied scene as well as the numbers

The following examples were read on 17 October 2026. They are published descriptions with their original size definitions, not hands-on tests, performance rankings or confirmed compatibility with every film pose.

CasePublished dimensionsSupport and fit question
Wicked Brick 10300W44 × D25 × H23.3 cm; the line is not marked inside/outside.Film-related configurations and embedded studs are described. Confirm the exact car position, support and supplied scene for the chosen option.
iDisplayit 10300 LargeInside L47 × W26 × H30 cm; outside L49 × W28 × H31 cm.The acrylic stand in the photographs is explicitly sold separately. Check its exact version and full loaded dimensions if required.
shopPOPdisplays 10300Approximately external, including base: H9.4 × W17.8 × D10.3 in.The description explicitly includes a clear acrylic stand and minifigure studs. Obtain the actual supported pose and clear cavity.
Flying Box 10300Case L15.5 × W9.5 × H7.5 in; separate base 16 × 10 in.The case line does not identify inside/outside and the text read does not specify a stand. Do not infer one from a photograph.

A 30 cm labelled interior and a 23.3 cm unlabeled case height cannot be treated as the same kind of spare-space measurement. Nor does a larger cavity alone certify compatibility with a particular aftermarket stand. Request the full supported model outline and the receiving space above the case's finished base.

For Flying Box, keep the separate base footprint in the furniture check. For shopPOPdisplays, the quoted numbers already include the base externally and do not reveal the clear height. Do not subtract a material thickness to manufacture a usable dimension.

The stand, Doc, Marty and plaque share the floor

Stand inclusion materially changes a shortlist. A case that shows a hovering Time Machine can require a separate purchase; another can include a support without specifying its numeric angle. Ask what is supplied, where it contacts the model and which film configuration the instructions assume.

Place Doc, Marty, the hoverboard and any information plaque in the same layout record as the car. Figure studs in a base define positions, not permission to place every extra accessory anywhere. Check that the figures remain visible and do not occupy the car's projected door area.

Wicked Brick offers film-specific clear or printed treatments and premium printed scene options. Its bundle wording describes one case with all three designs. Do not read that as three separate cases. Confirm which backgrounds/base panels and model-position components arrive with the exact option.

iDisplayit offers several printed scenery choices, while its stand remains separately sold. Keep the scenery selection and support purchase as distinct fields. A skyway image can suggest flight without making the photographed support part of the enclosure order.

Plan the complete scene and its access route. Invented car, support and figure shapes are not official LEGO geometry, stud locations, a lifting method or a verified fit.

Allow access before changing the film configuration

Wicked Brick describes lifting the clear surround from the base and returning it to grooves. Check that route against the selected lightning rod, raised doors and complete supported car. Keep a receiving place for the removed surround before planning regular configuration changes.

For another construction, use its own instructions to identify the opening and access direction. A ready-to-assemble description explains how the product arrives, not necessarily how to open it safely around an assembled model during ordinary use.

Operate the hood, doors or tire conversion only after access is established unless the maker documents room for those movements in the closed setup. A static open-door fit is not proof of the entire door sweep. Avoid a selection that depends on moving a filled case whenever you want to change the scene.

Use the blank Time Machine scene worksheet to record film parts, tire state, support, figures, scenery and dimensions. The LEGO shelf-case guide covers furniture placement, and the collection wall guide covers the separate room-layout task if you choose a mounted frame.

Common questions

Does a DeLorean case always include a flight stand?

No. One cited 10300 case explicitly sells its photographed stand separately; another includes one. Verify the selected product rather than the photograph alone.

Does a three-film bundle contain three cases?

Read the contents. The cited Wicked Brick option says one case with all three designs; it does not describe three enclosures or three complete LEGO cars.

Is a wall frame required for 10300?

It is an alternative presentation. A seller's preference for a frame does not invalidate a tabletop case designed for the exact set and a confirmed configuration.
