For LEGO Batwing 76161, choose between a vertical tabletop case, an angled tabletop case and a wall-mounted enclosure before comparing sizes. A vertical presentation is not automatically a wall-mounted product. A display frame also needs a separate check of what actually surrounds and supports the model.
Keep the original LEGO stand or wall-mounting feature separate from a case supplier's integrated support. Then compare the full supported aircraft, plaque and figures with labelled receiving dimensions and the actual opening route.
The model's wall feature and the enclosure's wall fittings are separate
LEGO's official 76161 description identifies a removable canopy, poseable flaps, a special wall-mounting brick, a display stand, nameplate and three minifigures. Its descriptive model reference is over H11 × L52 × W58 cm.
That reference is not a measured envelope on every aftermarket support. Choose the actual presentation and retain the support instructions. A brick used to hang the original model does not establish how an enclosing case attaches to a wall or whether the case maker intends to use that same connection.
For a tabletop arrangement, include the entire stand and the chosen flap positions. For a wall arrangement, identify both the model-retaining component and the case-fixing components. Do not treat a background image, a decorative frame or a generic hook symbol as either specification.
Keep the intended orientation beside every case measurement
The following descriptions were read in October 2026. They are supplier figures and contents, not our fit tests. The makers use different size definitions; preserve their axis labels.
| Product and format | Published dimensions | Receiving question |
|---|---|---|
| Wicked Brick, vertical case | External W62 × D27 × H58.3 cm. | Tabletop vertical package; request clear cavity and the intended stand arrangement. |
| Wicked Brick, angled case, same listing | External W67 × D57 × H44.3 cm. | Another case and base size, not the vertical case rotated on the furniture. |
| iDisplayit QWC76161 wall case | Inside L65 × W18 × H65 cm; outside L73 × W21 × H73 cm. | Integrated vertical support and removable front. Confirm axis orientation and whether the external projection includes the spacers. |
| DIA frame guide | 50 × 80 × 2.54 cm, also given as 19.7 × 31.5 × 1 in. | Tuple axes and receiving boundary are unclear. Obtain the actual frame-and-cover package. |
| KGBOX 76161 | No numeric receiving dimensions in the main description read. | Ask for the selected orientation, support contents, cavity and full exterior. |
| Songlection 76161 | Inside W61 × D55 × H28 cm. | 10 mm WPC base and acrylic panels are listed; a flight stand is not identified in the contents. |
A lower angled case can require a much deeper shelf
Wicked Brick's two published external specifications show the trade clearly. The angled version is 14 cm lower, 5 cm wider and 30 cm deeper than its vertical version. Those are differences between the listed exteriors, not measurements of a model or proof of clear interior space.
Choose the receiving furniture after selecting the orientation. A shelf that accommodates the vertical case's external depth may not accommodate the angled base. Keep the whole exterior in the furniture plan and obtain any base projection or fitting omitted from the headline size.
Wicked Brick describes studs for the minifigure plinth and a slot for the LEGO plaque, with a magnetic two-tier base. Those are scene and base details. They do not provide a universal ship-support angle or justify subtracting the separate base material lines to calculate a cavity.
For the Songlection case, retain the WPC description rather than calling the base acrylic. Ask whether your intended stand is part of the received arrangement or a separately required item. A case-only contents list should not inherit an integrated stand from another supplier's wall product.
Check model retention, wall fixing and front removal separately
iDisplayit describes a concealed bracket holding the model and includes an integrated vertical stand, UCS plaque holder, printed background and chrome-finish wall spacers. Its front panel is retained by hooks and two screws. That is a specific enclosure package, distinct from a tabletop case presented upright.
The model retainer holds the aircraft in the case; the wall fittings attach the complete display to the receiving wall. Obtain the exact installation instructions for both. The product's description of four spacers does not supply a universal anchor choice, wall-load rating or drilling method for every substrate.
Front removal needs working room as well as closed-case space. Identify where the released panel goes and how the intended fasteners are reached. A nearby shelf, adjacent frame or furniture edge can obstruct that route even when the closed square fits neatly on a wall plan.

A frame dimension is not automatically an enclosing cavity
The DIA guide lists a thin frame-size tuple while also promoting an enclosing display. Its size line does not identify a clear cavity or the supported model's projection. Do not treat the 2.54 cm figure as established receiving depth, or accept a general clearance promise in place of that missing definition.
Ask whether the quoted size belongs to the decorative panel, complete frame, separate clear cover or another component. Request the total occupied projection with 76161 on its specified retainer, the actual enclosing parts and the access route. A promotional comparison with other brands does not answer those questions.
Keep the canopy and flap state in the final record. If a feature will be accessed, decide where that happens using the actual model and enclosure instructions. An aircraft that fits in a completed display position does not establish room to remove its canopy inside a closed surround.
Use the 76161 orientation and wall-package worksheet to record supports, dimensions, plaque positions and front release. The collection wall layout guide helps place the confirmed finished footprints; the LEGO shelf case guide covers tabletop placement.
Common questions
Does “vertical case” mean wall-mounted?
No wall-fixing arrangement follows from the orientation alone. Confirm whether the product is intended for furniture or includes an instructed wall-mounting system.
Is the angled version smaller?
Compare every labelled exterior axis. In the cited Wicked Brick pair it is lower, but wider and deeper.
Can I use the original LEGO wall feature inside any case?
Only the selected enclosure's intended support arrangement can establish that combination. Keep the model connection and the case-to-wall fixing separate.
