Police Badge Display Cases: Pin Backs, Shield Frames and Embedments

Choose a police badge display case by deciding whether the badge must remain intact and retrievable. An opening holder, a shield-shaped career frame and a badge cast inside acrylic are different products. The curved face, closed rear fitting and actual receiving opening matter more than a general “fits most badges” label.

A cast embedment does not provide a door to the badge

US Acrylic Awards’ badge range describes casting badges inside acrylic and polishing the resulting presentation. It offers individual and multiple-badge examples. This is an embedment service, rather than an empty box with a documented reopening and removal method.

Settle that choice before selecting an engraved message or sending an object for work. If future access to the unchanged badge is important, specify an opening enclosure and a removable support. The embedment description inspected here does not provide an individual badge-recovery procedure.

Three police badge presentation formats
FormatPurpose to considerDecision still required
Opening individual holderOne badge displayed on a table or shelf.Complete front/rear profile, receiving opening and release method.
Career shadow boxBadges, patches, captions and a separately supported flag or photograph. An accurate layout, individual supports and access to each retained object.
Cast acrylic embedmentA finished presentation with the badge incorporated in acrylic.Whether that process matches the desired future access and object state.

A career group and an individual badge need not use the same format. One readable focal badge can have its own holder while photographs and documents remain in a separate presentation. Keep the choice tied to the objects and use, rather than filling every space in a large retirement frame.

Record the closed back as well as the decorative face

Identify the badge from the information actually associated with it. Keep a supplied description, date and connection to a person separate from an interpretation of the design. An honorary badge, replica or uncertain attribution should retain that status in its record.

Record the entire front outline, including star points, an eagle, projecting edges and any curvature. Then record the closed pin, hinge, catch, posts, clutches or existing holder behind it. A flat-looking front photograph can conceal a substantial rear fitting.

Keep an existing presentation intact in the enquiry if it will remain part of the display. Ask the holder maker which contacts support that actual assembly and how they release. A velvet background or colored insert is not, by itself, a complete support specification.

A circle and a shield do not contain every rectangle with the same width

Kudos’ round holder expressly notes that some larger or thicker badges may not fit. Compare the complete outline with a defined circular receiving space. Width alone cannot show whether a badge’s outer points or upper corners remain within that circle.

Its six colored inserts offer a visual choice, but the selected insert and actual rear fitting still belong in the depth enquiry. Treat the stated half-inch thickness as its own source field until the maker identifies the usable boundaries. Scratch, seal and coaster claims are not fit evidence for your badge.

Custom Displays’ badge and patch category lists two- and three-inch ranges with approximate internal face dimensions. Ask for the clear space after the selected backing and support are installed. A deeper nominal case does not explain how the badge is retained.

The outline of a badge-shaped frame is part of the layout

Web Recognitions’ shield-shaped MSB-Police gives overall and display widths and heights. Obtain the actual shaped opening before arranging objects in its bounding rectangle; tapered corners and the shield point can reduce useful positions.

Military Plaques’ badge-outline shadow box offers a custom career layout and describes a removable or hinged front. Confirm which construction applies to the order. Its flag selector uses a 3-inch × 5-inch description, while MSB-Police names a 3-foot × 5-foot flag. Keep those units distinct and confirm the intended flag and actual folded shape.

Place the supported flag, badge, patch and nameplate as separate outlines on the proposed opening. A flag’s unfolded size does not describe its folded compartment. Give each object a connection to its own record without implying that neighboring items necessarily belonged to one person or period.

Opening the front must expose the intended release points

Ask what opens, what stays supported and which fasteners must be reached to remove one badge. A front door can expose the face while leaving a rear catch inaccessible. Confirm the complete sequence and a suitable resting place for a removed panel or board.

Use the badge identity, fittings and access worksheet and the usable depth guide to keep the actual object, finished support and clear receiving space together.

Common questions

Does a 3.75-inch diameter accept any badge narrower than that?

Check the entire outline against the circle, plus curvature and closed rear fittings against a defined cavity.

Is an acrylic embedment an opening display case?

The cited service casts the badge within acrylic. Specify a removable holder if future individual access is part of the project.
