Choose a LEGO Volkswagen T1 Camper Van display case around set 10220 and the view you want: closed body, raised pop-up roof or selected doors and windshield open. Then confirm whether the vehicle rests on its wheels or on an included stand. Those decisions matter more than comparing two unqualified case heights.
The roof, windshield and camping interior offer different views
LEGO’s official US 10220 specification describes a pop-up roof with a textile curtain surround, opening safari windshield and doors, plus folding interior furniture. The US descriptive size line gives over 5 in high and 11 in long. It supplies neither width nor an explicit roof-state envelope.
Choose which details should remain visible from the shelf. A closed side view emphasizes the two-tone body. A raised roof changes the upper silhouette. Opening the doors to show the camping interior adds side projections and may work best from a different approach.
Keep 10220 with the enquiry. Another Volkswagen camper or another Creator vehicle should not inherit this fit simply because a manufacturer offers cases in the same stacking family. For this article, the five compared enclosure descriptions all name the T1 set.
Define the resting scene before asking about movement
| Daily presentation | Include in the outline | Separate access question |
|---|---|---|
| Closed body on its wheels | Whole vehicle, mirrors, roof rack, plaque and retained objects. | How will the surround open before occasional handling? |
| Roof deliberately raised | Actual pop-up roof and textile surround in their settled position. | Can the cover be removed without catching the upper structure? |
| Interior shown on an exact stand | Supported vehicle, chosen doors and windshield, roof state and support. | Where can hands approach, and where will removed enclosure parts wait? |
Use one complete arrangement when recording dimensions. A roof-up vehicle on its wheels and a roof-down vehicle raised on a stand are different outlines. Combining the smallest height from one with a photographed angle from the other gives no reliable receiving requirement.
Decide whether the doors and windshield stay open daily or are demonstrated occasionally. A settled open pose needs its occupied space. Operating a feature under the closed surround also needs its movement path and hand approach; fitting the resting model does not establish either.
An internal size and an external height answer different questions
The following published descriptions were read on 18 October 2026. They have different supports, bases and size definitions. This is a source comparison, without a claim of DisplayCasePro physical fitting or performance testing.
| Exact enclosure | Published figures | Keep with the fit enquiry |
|---|---|---|
| Wicked Brick 10220 | External W40 × D25 × H23 cm. | Raised-presentation wording, actual support and chosen roof state. |
| Blacked Brick 10220 | External W36 × D22 × H16.2 cm. | Model-locating base cutout, plaque and clear cavity above that base. |
| shopPOPdisplays P_21055 | Approximate external including base H9.7 × W16 × D8.5 in. | Explicit clear stand; complete supported vehicle and usable interior. |
| Songlection 10220 | Inside W34 × D16 × H16 cm; also 13.39 × 6.3 × 6.3 in. | Interior datum, complete roof state and supplied contents. |
| Brick In It 10220 | Product W34 × D20 × H20 cm; boundary unlabelled. | Actual interior and the intended wheel-level or supported vehicle. |
Songlection labels its figures as inside and describes a 10 mm WPC base, five 3 mm acrylic panels, acrylic connectors and screws. WPC is its stated base material; do not silently substitute an acrylic base. Its inside height still needs a clear starting surface and the exact vehicle arrangement.
Brick In It gives a product dimension line, a 5 mm black Perspex base and metal corner cubes. Its 34 cm figure is not the same receiving specification as Songlection’s labelled inside width. A matching number does not erase the difference in boundaries or hardware.
Blacked Brick supplies an outside height and describes a locating cutout. Ask which settled roof and vehicle state it receives. Subtracting the official partial model reference from that exterior cannot prove clearance above the actual base.
A supplied support changes the complete vehicle height
shopPOPdisplays’ P_21055 description explicitly includes a clear acrylic stand, black base and assembly hardware. Its approximate size includes the base. Obtain the intended supported position and usable cavity before comparing it with a lower wheel-level enclosure.
The same page uses general minifigure wording. That is not a supplied-figure inventory for this T1 display. Its optional UV-printed rear describes a printing process, rather than a measured UV-filtering performance. Confirm the actual contents and rear treatment for the chosen order.
The cover photograph comes from the authorized CubeBuff 10220 open-stand gallery. That product has no enclosure. Its published stand-only W34 × D20 × H5 cm and with-collectible W34 × D20 × H17 cm have different scopes. Neither is an open-roof fit specification or proof that the stand fits any of the five cases.

Keep cover removal separate from opening the model
Wicked Brick describes lifting the surround from grooves in the base. It also uses a two-tier 10 mm base description alongside a separate 5 mm base-material line. Request the finished-base and supported-car drawing rather than treating those lines as extra clearance.
Before choosing the receiving shelf, identify the cover’s removal route past the roof rack, raised roof and any open panel. Reserve a place for the surround to wait. For other constructions, use their own opening instructions; corner cubes and screws alone do not establish a removable front.
A printed background can support a side view while reducing the view through the back. Check the actual roof and interior view from the room’s normal approach. Keep optional lighting and its route with the selected package instead of assuming a light option adds free space.
Use the T1 roof, stand and access worksheet with the LEGO shelf case guide and measurement guide. Retain the original size definitions with every answer.
Common questions
Does the official T1 height establish pop-up roof clearance?
The cited US size line does not specify the roof state or give a complete posed envelope. Record the roof as displayed and compare the whole vehicle with a labelled interior.
Does an open-stand photograph show the enclosed package?
The cover photograph shows an uncovered CubeBuff stand. The compared enclosures have their own contents and fit questions; confirm any combined use separately.
Cover photograph: CubeBuff authorized gallery, used with the owner’s permission. Whole composition retained and compressed to WebP; physical model markings retained. An open stand is shown, with no enclosure or measured case-fit demonstration.
