LEGO Titanic Display Cases: Compare 10294 Sizes and Access

Compare LEGO Titanic 10294 display case specifications, including inside versus outside size, wood bases, cover access and the ship’s three-section display.

LEGO Titanic Display Cases: Compare 10294 Sizes and Access

A LEGO Titanic display case needs to fit set 10294 in the arrangement you actually want to see: the ship connected as one long silhouette, or its sections opened to reveal the interior. Start with that decision. Then compare the case’s usable interior, its complete base footprint and the route for removing the cover.

The published sizes below do not all mean the same thing. Some describe an exterior including the base, one seller explicitly calls its figures internal, and others leave the definition unstated. This is a comparison of documented specifications and questions to resolve before ordering, rather than a hands-on product ranking.

Connected ship or visible cross sections?

LEGO’s official 10294 description gives a model reference of over 135 cm long, 44 cm high and 16 cm wide. It also describes three sections, a display stand supporting each section and a name plaque. These published model figures identify the scale of the project; they do not specify the minimum clear interior of an aftermarket case.

For the connected ship, record the completed arrangement from its furthest bow detail to its furthest stern detail, including the stand and the plaque wherever you plan to place it. The slender hull alone is not the full display. Check the masts, lines and any additions without pushing them aside to make a smaller rectangle.

If the cross sections matter to you, decide whether they will remain visible all the time or only when the cover is removed. Leaving gaps between sections changes the display’s total length. A case advertised for the connected 10294 model should not be assumed to accommodate a spread-out scene, a separate information board or an added dock.

There is a useful middle option: display the connected ship most of the time and plan occasional access outside the enclosure. That makes the removal route and a suitable place for the cover part of the purchase decision. A removable lid alone does not tell you how comfortably the ship can be accessed in your room.

Compare the definitions before comparing the numbers

The following pages were checked for this guide in October 2026. Values retain each supplier’s published axes and units. An unspecified dimension stays unspecified; it has not been converted into an assumed usable interior.

Exact 10294 listingPublished sizeWhat it establishes
Wicked BrickW142 × D24 × H48.3 cmAxes are named; inside versus outside is not stated. The page describes a lift-off cover and tiered magnetic base.
shopPOPdisplays P21021Approximately H18.7 × W56.5 × D10 inExplicitly external, including the base. RTA and permanently assembled formats need to be distinguished.
Brickcessories220 × 1430 × 480 mmCalled assembled case size, but the line does not label the axes or say inside/outside.
Blacked Brick wood-base caseW139 × D20 × H49.2 cmExplicitly external. The product describes a 3 cm oak base; clear interior dimensions still need confirmation.
FantasmallL140 × W20 × H50 cmThe FAQ calls the size internal. The upgraded wood-base version needs its own exterior confirmation.

Do not sort this table by the apparent longest side and choose the smallest case. A smaller external number and a larger internal number are different measurements. Even after converting inches to centimeters, that definition problem remains. The appropriate comparison is your completed display against a confirmed clear interior, followed by the entire case against the furniture.

For the Brickcessories line, ask for a drawing with arrows and units. Reordering the values because one looks like a ship’s length may seem obvious, but it leaves the source’s missing definitions unresolved. The same drawing can show whether a corner fitting or base lip reduces usable space near a projecting detail.

A wood-base version needs a matching specification

The Fantasmall listing introduces an upgraded 2 cm wood base, while its more general FAQ supplies exterior offsets and material wording that may refer to another construction. Do not apply those offsets to manufacture a precise outside size for the upgrade. Ask which size line belongs to the version being quoted and whether the base, cover connectors and any overhang are included.

The wood-base question also affects height. A dimension measured from the underside of the base is different from space measured above the floor where the ship stands. Ask for that floor datum explicitly instead of subtracting a guessed base thickness from the advertised height.

Three separate checks: the supported ship inside, the whole case outside and the cover’s removal route. Schematic only; no fit or handling clearance is prescribed.

A long case needs a practical access plan

Wicked Brick describes lifting the clear cover from grooves in the base. For that format, check the route above and around the display, then identify somewhere the complete cover can be placed while you work. A shelf immediately above the case can prevent the intended movement even if the closed enclosure fits.

For another maker’s case, confirm its actual opening method. Do not assume that a front panel is routinely removable because a customer has tried it. Panel connections, supported edges and the manufacturer’s assembly sequence can differ. Ask for the instructions for the exact case, rather than using a different supplier’s video as a handling guide.

A three-section model creates an additional access question: can you reach the required sections without catching a mast, line or other projection? Decide where the plaque will go during that task. A decorative backdrop can frame the ship well, but it may make rear details or a cross section harder to see from the room’s usual viewing position.

Lighting is another configuration, not an automatic feature of every Titanic case. If you choose it, have the supplier identify the supplied components, cable route and any changes to the base or interior. Keep a set lighting kit distinct from lighting built into the case. Neither should be assumed to fit an unmodified enclosure without confirmation.

Send a configuration enquiry that can be answered

A useful enquiry combines the model, display arrangement and proposed case version. For example:

I have LEGO Titanic 10294 and want to display the connected ship on its intended stand, with the name plaque in front. I am considering your [exact case and base version]. Please confirm the clear internal L/W/H above the display floor, the complete exterior including base and fittings, and the intended cover-removal method. Does the quoted package include the support and the background shown?

Add your own measurements and a simple sketch if the sections will be spaced apart, the plaque is offset, or the model has additions. A generic “will Titanic fit?” can receive a generic answer that does not cover those changes.

Use the 10294 case comparison worksheet to keep each size attached to its source, axis order and version. Leave unresolved fields blank until the maker answers. Do not replace a missing interior with the LEGO model’s published dimensions.

For the underlying shelf and enclosure checks, follow our LEGO shelf display case guide. This set-specific comparison adds the long hull, supported sections and supplier-definition problems; furniture load and installation still need appropriate documented limits for the complete arrangement.

Questions before choosing a Titanic case

Is a 135 cm case enough for 10294?

That number is a published model-length reference, not a recommended case size. You still need your complete supported arrangement, a confirmed clear interior and a workable opening route. The word “over” in the model description is another reason not to treat 135 cm as a precise cut-off.

Can I display the three sections separately inside one case?

Possibly, but a case advertised for the connected model does not establish that layout. Record the separated arrangement and ask the maker to confirm it, including the supports and the space used between sections.

Does the biggest listed case offer the most usable space?

Only a like-for-like comparison can answer that. Confirm the dimension definitions, base version and internal obstructions first. Outside size, nominal assembled size and clear interior should occupy different columns in your notes.
