Choose a LEGO R2-D2 display case by set number before comparing height. The 10225, 75308 and 75379 builds are separate models, and their leg positions, tools, plaques and companion figures create different scenes. Check the actual case's receiving space and supplied parts against the arrangement you intend to keep on show.
10225, 75308 and 75379 are different fit records
Use the number on your box, instructions or collection record. A product title saying UCS R2-D2 does not establish compatibility with every large droid, and the familiar blue-and-white outline is not a substitute for the identifier.
The official 75379 description gives a model reference over H24 × W16 × D11 cm. Its third leg, periscope and tools are attachable, with a rotating head. The display also includes the small R2-D2 figure, Darth Malak anniversary figure and stand, and an information plaque.
The official 75308 description instead describes a retractable middle leg, extending front hatches, adjustable periscope and a head compartment. It gives over H31 × W20 × D15 cm in the specification, while its separate dimension graphic says W19 cm. Keep that width discrepancy as a question rather than silently choosing the smaller figure to establish clearance.
Those reference dimensions do not describe the full occupied scene, every extended feature or an aftermarket base. An older 10225 case likewise needs its own identified receiving arrangement, even where its dimensions look close to another listing.
Choose the feature state before the background
| Build | State to identify | Scene to record |
|---|---|---|
| 10225 | The cited iDisplayit case describes upright and extended-leg motion positions for this set. | Actual stance, front features and UCS plaque in that maker's intended arrangement. |
| 75308 | Retracted or deployed middle leg, head direction, periscope and front hatches. | Complete droid, small figure, plaque and anniversary display pieces. |
| 75379 | Attached or removed third leg, periscope and tools; chosen head direction. | Droid, information plaque and both smaller figure displays, including Darth Malak's stand. |
For a settled display, write down which features remain extended. A front tool and raised periscope can change the occupied depth and height independently. Do not use the resting body reference as a guarantee for both at once.
A pose that fits when stationary also does not prove room to move the leg or rotate an extended tool inside the enclosure. Decide whether changing those features is an occasional open-case task or something the supplier expressly accommodates.
Keep inside, outside and unlabelled dimensions apart
The following maker descriptions were read on 17 October 2026. They cover different R2-D2 sets and dimension definitions, so they are not an interchangeable shortlist or physical fit test.
| Listing | Published description | Receiving question |
|---|---|---|
| Wicked Brick 75308 | Explicitly external W27 × D32 × H37.3 cm; magnetic tiered base and embedded studs. | Obtain clear space above the finished base for the selected leg, hatch and periscope states. |
| Flying Box 75379 | Case L7.7 × W7.4 × H11.7 in; base 8.2 × 7.9 in. Text says the item contains two display cases. | The case line has no inside/outside label. Request the contents and dimensions of each supplied enclosure. |
| Brickcessories 75308 | Assembled 250 × 250 × 350 mm, with clear, black or printed-back choices. | The size sequence does not label axes or inside/outside. Confirm usable space and the actual base layout. |
| Blacked Brick 75379 | External W23 × D24 × H26.2 cm; base cutouts and an included information plaque. | Confirm the intended arrangement and receiving space, including which figures and extended parts are accommodated. |
| iDisplayit 10225 | Inside L26 × W26 × H36 cm; outside L28 × W28 × H37 cm. | Retain its explicit 10225 identity and stated pose allowance; do not transfer compatibility to 75308 or 75379. |
Wicked Brick's external height includes an assembly with a tiered base. Brickcessories supplies an assembled size without the same datum, while iDisplayit labels its interior and exterior separately. Subtracting a guessed panel or base thickness would not make those figures equivalent.
For Flying Box, reserve the complete stated base footprint on the furniture. Its two-case statement is package information, not proof that the one published dimension line describes both enclosures. Establish whether the intended smaller display is supplied, its footprint and its position beside the main droid.
Give the plaque and figures their own positions
A base cutout, embedded studs and a loose presentation area are different arrangements. Ask which supplied pieces locate the droid and which locate a plaque or figure. An advertised fit for the large build does not automatically answer where every companion stands.
Blacked Brick describes a supplied informational plaque. Keep that distinct from the LEGO information display already in the set. Decide which you want visible and confirm their intended positions without covering the droid's front detail.
iDisplayit's 10225 description expressly allows the upright or extended-leg motion position, plus space for the UCS plaque and extended front features. That is a maker statement about this product and set; it is not evidence for every tool state on a newer R2-D2.

Open the case before assuming a feature can move
Wicked Brick describes lifting the clear surround from the base and returning it to grooves. Check that route above the chosen periscope and around front attachments. Leave an appropriate receiving place for the removed surround.
iDisplayit's description similarly separates the case from the base after its panel assembly. A flat-pack construction is not permission to remove an arbitrary panel while it is supporting the enclosure. Use the actual opening and handling instructions.
If head accessories, tools or a lighting addition change the arrangement, update the fit record before closing the cover. Keep a lightsaber or spare attachment in its documented position rather than assuming an unused-looking floor area belongs to it.
Use the blank R2-D2 configuration worksheet for the set, stance, attachments, companion positions and missing size definitions. The LEGO shelf-case guide covers the separate furniture and cover-access check; the collection measurement guide covers recording the complete occupied outline.
Common questions
Can one R2-D2 case be used for every set?
Check the exact compatibility statement and full arrangement. The three set numbers here do not share one documented body size, feature system or companion layout.
Does external case height tell me room above the periscope?
It does not define clear space above the finished base. Obtain the actual interior and compare the selected supported pose.
Does a two-case listing give the size of both cases?
Only if both are separately specified. Request the complete contents and dimensions rather than applying one size line to the whole package.
