Choose a LEGO Minifigure Vending Machine display case for the whole 21358 machine, then decide whether any built figures will sit outside it. Coin insertion, handle movement and capsule collection need separate access checks. A case for a row of loose minifigures does not describe an enclosure for the machine.
The set’s capsules and its built figures are different objects
LEGO’s original 21358 announcement describes inserting the included LEGO coin, turning the handle and releasing one of 16 capsules containing elements for a minifigure. It is a brick-built dispensing model, rather than a transparent cabinet whose compartments simply hold sixteen completed figures.
The current official product description repeats that operating sequence and gives a descriptive model reference of over H28 × W17 × D21 cm. Keep that metric reference together. The rounded inch widget is not a more precise cavity measurement or an allowance for a hand beside the handle.
Inventory what you will actually show: the machine, retained capsules and any figures already built from their elements. A separate row of assembled figures changes the complete group. Do not assume the same elements remain inside capsules while simultaneously appearing as completed figures outside the machine.
A second figure case adds a second footprint
Flying Box’s 21358 listing offers a vending-machine case alone or a version with a separate minifigure case. The two receivers have their own dimensions and bases. The figure case is not an additional compartment within the machine enclosure.
| Component | Published case dimensions | Separate base dimensions |
|---|---|---|
| Vending-machine case | L9.75 × W8.25 × H12 in. | 10.25 × 8.75 in. |
| Minifigure case | L11 × W2.25 × H6 in. | 11.5 × 2.75 in. |
The case tuples are not labelled as internal or external. Keep that boundary unresolved, and include both complete bases when planning a side-by-side display. Stacking language does not establish a tested arrangement for two different receivers or convenient access to the lower machine.
A category, a reseller and a case variant answer different questions
The sources below include a minifigure-display category and LEGO’s original announcement alongside product pages. They were read on 19 October 2026. Keep their different page tasks distinct when comparing the published receiving information; these are not five physically tested enclosures.
| Source | Useful receiving information | Remaining boundary |
|---|---|---|
| Flying Box | Machine-only or machine plus separate figure case; dimensions above. | Usable cavity and routine opening for the selected arrangement. |
| iDisplayit category | Loose-figure and wall formats plus an exact 21358 product card. | Category capacity does not specify whole-machine fit; read the exact product. |
| Display Geek | Display H12 × W9.75 × D8.25 in; expressly made and shipped by Flying Box. | Not another independent construction or fit test; cavity boundary remains unlabelled. |
| Official LEGO announcement | Identifies the model, coin, handle, capsules and minifigure elements. | No specification for an aftermarket outer case. |
| Scoparius | Box 20 × 25 × 30 cm and several base, lighting and door choices. | Axes, inside/outside boundary and applicability to the selected version. |
The exact iDisplayit 21358 leaf linked by its category supplies the missing product-specific comparison: inside L26 × W26 × H30 cm and outside L28 × W28 × H31 cm. It describes a lid placed on top and a clear surround resting on the base. Those facts belong to this leaf, not every minifigure case in the category.
Display Geek identifies Flying Box as the maker and shipper of its product. Treat the repeated size as related supplier information, without counting it as a second physical measurement. Its UV percentage claim is not an independently verified protection result from this guide.
Check coin, handle and capsule collection separately
For a fixed display, settle the machine’s orientation and the placement of any separate figures. For demonstrations, identify the complete routine in the model instructions: approaching the coin slot, turning the handle and collecting the released capsule. A receiving cavity for the stationary model does not establish room for all three actions.

Decide whether demonstrations happen after opening the enclosure or after retrieving the model. Keep refilling and later model handling as another task to check against the actual instructions. A product photograph and the word functional do not provide the steps for reopening the machine or changing its contents.
A named sliding-door version needs its own confirmation
Scoparius describes a USB-connected top ring light and sliding door for named ring-light configurations. Its option list also includes plain bases, an alloy-frame version and a LEGO lighting-kit option. Do not transfer the sliding door or the same material construction to every selection.
Request the size drawing, door opening and included parts for the exact quoted version. Ask whether the machine can be reached for the intended coin, handle and collection routine. A sliding door establishes a format, without proving that a particular hand or task fits through it.
Keep a mirror floor, printed rear and lighting as presentation choices. UV printing describes how artwork is applied, not the clear panel’s tested filtering performance. No universal dust-exclusion, optical or operating-clearance rating is supplied here.
Leave room for the enclosure as well as the demonstration
For iDisplayit’s described surround-on-base construction, confirm the intended opening routine and the route above the complete machine. The maker also says the case is not designed to be relocated with LEGO inside. Do not turn easy access or stacking wording into permission to carry the loaded display.
Use the 21358 machine, figures and access worksheet to record both receivers and each operating task. The LEGO shelf case guide covers the complete exterior at its final location; the collection measurement guide helps retain the actual machine-and-figure outline.
