A LEGO Mario display case needs an exact model and final display state. The pixel-style Mario and Yoshi 71438, Mario Kart 72037 and opening Question Mark Block 71395 are different builds. A shared Super Mario category does not describe one interchangeable enclosure.
For 71438, identify access to two separate controls. For 72037, retain the intended kart stand and pose. For 71395, distinguish the closed block, the completed open scene and the movement used to unfold it. Those choices make the receiving question specific.
Start with the set number, not a theme label
LEGO 71438 describes pixelated figures, a base handle that creates the running effect and a dial behind Yoshi's head that moves the tongue. Its published model reference is over H40 × W26 × D11 cm.
LEGO 72037 instead includes a special stand for dynamic kart angles and a Mario figure with a posable head and arms. Its model reference is over H22 × L32 × W19 cm; it is not a measurement of every selected stand angle or pose.
LEGO 71395 is a block described as over 18 cm high, wide and deep that opens to reveal four game scenes. The block reference is not the complete open arrangement or the space swept during unfolding.
Family catalogues mix these identities. Elevenmark's Mario category also contains Game Boy, Luigi kart and Donkey Kong formats. The Brickcessories category includes Game Boy, two kart identities and Bowser. Use those categories to find a named product, not to establish dimensions or supplied supports for the whole theme.
Keep the supported state beside the dimensions
The following supplier descriptions were read in October 2026. They are attributed figures, not our measurements. No physical fit, operating clearance or enclosure performance has been tested for this guide.
| Exact case | Published size | Receiving question |
|---|---|---|
| Wicked Brick 71438 | W38 × D16 × H42.3 cm. | Inside/outside is unlabelled in the size block. Confirm the complete model and access to the base handle and rear head dial. |
| Flying Box 72037 | Case L14.75 × W9.25 × H10.5 in; base 15.25 × 9.75 in. | Case inside/outside is unlabelled. Keep the larger base and the exact kart-on-stand pose in the plan. |
| iDisplayit 71395 XL | Inside L39 × W26 × H30 cm; outside L41 × W28 × H31 cm. | Intended for the opened set. Completed open presentation does not establish unfolding or hand access inside. |
Do not compare an unclassified case height with an official model height and call the difference spare operating room. The cavity boundary, actual support, model state and hand approach are still unresolved. For the two catalogue results, no numeric case specification can be borrowed from another theme card.
71438 has two controls in different locations
The running handle is at the base; the tongue dial is behind the head. Record which function you intend to demonstrate and how you will follow the model instructions at that location. Reaching one control does not establish access to the other.
Wicked Brick describes lifting the clear surround off the base, with an included information plaque and optional background. That is an opening route, not evidence of a separate control door. Check where the surround will rest and whether operation happens after it has been removed as instructed.
The official set also has an Action Tag for separately sold interactive LEGO figures. If you intend that additional arrangement, identify the exact figure and include its complete position and access in the record. The pixelated Mario in the build and a separate electronic figure are different items; the case photograph should not become an assumed contents list.
72037 needs the actual kart, stand and figure pose
Choose the intended stand presentation using the LEGO instructions. Include the kart, wheels, stand base and Mario's head and arms in the final outline. A dynamically angled model does not necessarily align with the case's labelled length and width axes.
The Flying Box listing excludes the LEGO set and gives a separate, larger base footprint. Use that base in the furniture plan and request a clear cavity for the supported pose. Do not substitute a different kart or a similar-looking Luigi model because it appears in the same category.
Keep a front and side reference of the configuration you want confirmed. A catalogue photograph of a kart can help describe the view, but it does not document every allowed tilt, arm position or another supplier's support connection.

71395 in an open display is different from opening it inside
iDisplayit describes its XL case as larger so the set can be displayed opened. Its top is secured to the surround, assembled with ten screws, and the base is described as a 48 × 32-stud area. Keep those construction and final-state details with the exact XL product.
They do not establish a movable lid, a hand opening beside the block or room for the entire unfolding sequence. Ask whether the model should be placed in its completed open state before the surround is returned, and follow the actual removal instructions. Do not treat the stud-area label as a measured movement allowance.
The same maker states that this case is not designed to be relocated with LEGO inside. Preserve that restriction in the handling record. If you want the closed-block presentation instead, obtain the exact smaller product's specification rather than assuming XL dimensions describe both purchases.
Use the Mario model and display-state worksheet for the set number, retained support, extra figures, final outline and operation location. The LEGO shelf case guide covers placement of the confirmed full enclosure.
Common questions
Will one Super Mario case fit every Mario build?
A family label does not establish that. Identify the exact model and supported state, then compare the actual receiving specification.
Does an open-block case let me unfold the model inside?
Completed open presentation, movement clearance and access are different tasks. Obtain the selected product's intended routine.
Is an interactive electronic Mario figure included with the display model?
The cited 71438 and 71395 descriptions identify the interactive figures as separate purchases. Record the exact model-specific combination rather than assuming one figure or package applies to both.
