LEGO Gringotts Display Cases: 76417 Stack and Dragon Fit

Compare Gringotts 76417 cases for the bank, vault and dragon stack. Resolve conflicting height references, support contents and front-panel versus lift-away access.

LEGO Gringotts Display Cases: 76417 Stack and Dragon Fit

Choose a LEGO Gringotts 76417 display case by the exact bank, vault and dragon arrangement it will receive. The bank alone and the complete vertical display have very different height references. One sampled case’s 78 cm interior also conflicts with LEGO’s over-79 cm combined reference, so a set-number match needs a current drawing and pose confirmation.

Bank-only and full-stack displays need separate records

The official LEGO 76417 description gives the bank section as over H36 × W32 × D25 cm. It describes three models forming a combined display over 79 cm high: the bank, underground vault structure and a posable Ukrainian Ironbelly dragon.

The bank measurement is not the whole stack’s footprint. Position the dragon, settle its wings and record the tallest point of the complete supported display. Include figures and any nearby information plaque rather than assuming the bank’s width and depth apply at every height.

Connecting the bank to Diagon Alley 75978 is another layout decision. A case designed for that combined street and underground scene occupies a different receiving footprint from a standalone Gringotts stack. Keep those arrangements separate when comparing the original product records.

Five case pages use different measurement definitions

These original descriptions were read on 18 October 2026. Unlabelled measurements remain unlabelled here. No DisplayCasePro physical fit, stack-support, UV or dust test has been performed.

The shopPOPdisplays page was readable through an ordinary web source reported as crawled that day; its direct HTTP request remained blocked. Its stated size is external and covers the combined street arrangement. It specifies a ready-to-assemble cover, recommends two-person assembly and excludes the studs and stand. Those exclusions matter as much as the large box dimensions.

A 78 cm interior needs an explanation, not an assumed correction

LEGO’s complete-display reference is over 79 cm high, while iDisplayit publishes a 78 cm interior and a 79 cm exterior. Do not substitute the exterior for the interior or silently reduce LEGO’s reference. The two descriptions require clarification before treating this case as a confirmed full-stack fit.

Send the supplier a photograph of the intended stack, including the dragon pose and all supplied supports. Ask where the case’s height starts, which exact arrangement the specification receives and whether the current product revision changes either measurement. Keep the dated reply and drawing with the order.

This discrepancy alone does not establish that a particular assembled product fails to fit: the reference pose, support arrangement or current revision may differ. It does establish that the published numbers cannot provide an unqualified fit recommendation. The taller unlabelled dimensions elsewhere also need an actual interior boundary.

Stems, studs and a smooth base describe different contents

Wicked Brick identifies stems for the set, figure and coin studs, a magnetic two-tier base and a plaque beneath the build. Ask for its actual receiving drawing and complete supported outline. The base magnets connect base components; they do not establish the load capacity or retention of the tall model.

FlyingBox explicitly describes a base without studs. Its larger base footprint is also separate from the stated case dimensions. Confirm what receives the model and how the intended stack is positioned before substituting that smooth-base arrangement for another supplier’s stems.

A printed street or underground background changes the view, not the receiving support. Likewise, “UV-printed” describes how artwork is produced; it is not a quantified UV-filtering result. Choose the rear only after settling the bank orientation and the access side.

Front access and complete-stack removal are different tasks

BrickShell describes a magnetic front panel that lifts away and reseats. That may provide a different access routine from lifting a clear surround over the display, but it does not document removal of the entire supported stack through the front. Ask for the sequence appropriate to the supplied base and support.

Decide whether ordinary access means repositioning a figure, using the cart and vault features or taking out the model. Record where the removed panel or surround rests, and keep the furniture above the display in the access drawing. Do not invent a lifting allowance from the model’s nominal height.

Use the Gringotts stack and dragon worksheet. The measurement guide covers complete outlines; the LEGO shelf-case guide covers the receiving furniture.

Common questions

Can I choose a full-stack case from the bank’s 36 cm height?

No. That reference describes only the bank section. Record the full supported bank, vault and dragon arrangement.

Does a removable front guarantee easy removal of the whole model?

No. Confirm the model-handling sequence and support contents separately from the front-panel mechanism.
