LEGO Ferris Wheel Display Cases: 10247 Size and Rear Access

Compare 10247 Ferris Wheel cases by labelled dimensions, rear control access and full-cover removal. Keep rotation, boarding and powered controls separate.

LEGO Ferris Wheel Display Cases: 10247 Size and Rear Access

For LEGO Ferris Wheel 10247, the front view and control-access side are different planning questions. Some cases provide a rear opening for the controls. A case placed with its back against a wall can therefore lose a useful feature even when the complete enclosure fits on the furniture.

The case receives the fairground as well as the wheel

The official LEGO 10247 page describes a crank-driven wheel, gondolas, a boarding platform raised by a lever and ten minifigures. Its US size reference is over H23 × W21 × D14 in. Keep those axes, units and the word “over” attached to the model reference.

Record your completed fairground in the state intended for display. Include its retained figures, signs and other scenery, rather than measuring only the circular wheel. If a control, added cable or separate component changes the supported outline, identify that addition in the same record.

The official description also names optional Power Functions 8883 and 88000 components, excluded from the original set. Treat that as the page’s historical accessory description, not proof of current availability or compatibility for a new powered setup. The chosen controller and its position need their own confirmation with the actual case.

These are supplier descriptions, not five independent fit or operating tests. Kingdom Brick Supply identifies the iDisplayit brand; matching measurements in the reseller and maker pages are not separate physical confirmations. A stated stud area is also a locating reference, rather than the complete moving outline.

Do not compare an unlabelled product dimension with a confirmed interior as though the boundaries matched. Likewise, the official “over” model reference and rounded inch/centimetre sequences do not support exact clearance subtraction. Ask for the finished receiving space with its supporting surface, panels and control opening labelled.

A rear door needs a rear approach at the furniture

iDisplayit expressly locates its extra control door on the back panel. Decide which side will face the room and how you will reach that back panel in the final position. The display’s attractive front should not determine placement before the control task is understood.

Request the door’s usable aperture, opening direction and intended model orientation. Compare those details with the exact crank or installed control you want to reach. Do not assume a generic “operational” description proves hand access to every controller position, especially after a powered modification.

The Kingdom Brick Supply description confirms a built-in control opening but does not locate it in the short text read. Keep the maker’s rear-door information attributed to the maker’s product, and confirm the exact supplied version rather than transferring every photograph or feature across listings.

Original Ferris wheel planning concept with the front viewing side, a rear control-access question and a separate upward surround-removal route
Original invented ride and case. Rear approach, control access and full-cover removal are separate questions; no actual 10247 geometry, door aperture or tested movement is depicted.

Turning the wheel and reaching a gondola are separate tasks

A control door can provide an approach to a crank or switch without giving access to a gondola, a figure or the boarding platform. List the actions you want to perform separately. The official model’s moving features do not establish that they can all be reached through a particular case opening.

Keep the settled display outline distinct from movement. Ask for the intended wheel and gondola arrangement within the selected case, including any limitations on operation under the cover. A single product photograph cannot measure the full motion envelope or prove clearance for altered scenery.

For boarding, scene changes or attention to the ride, determine when the larger surround must be removed. Do not enlarge the claimed purpose of a control door to include those tasks without confirmation. Plan an appropriate place for the separated case panels or surround while following the model’s intended handling.

Match the base, rear access and full-cover route together

iDisplayit describes twenty fittings and a top secured to the surrounding panels. That completed surround lifts away from the base, so space above and a suitable resting location matter in addition to rear-door access. Its description says the case is not designed to be relocated with LEGO inside; Kingdom Brick Supply repeats that restriction.

Songlection describes a 10 mm PVC base, while Brick In It specifies a 5 mm gloss black acrylic base. FantasMall’s general guidance gives approximate exterior additions to its listed interiors. These statements do not supply a shared base datum or an exact outside footprint for another product. Obtain the selected case’s finished drawing rather than calculating a cavity from material thickness.

Printed backgrounds, lighting or stacking language should stay with the exact option and its documentation. They do not establish included electrical hardware, a stacking load rating or permission to carry a filled case. Keep the normal opening routine explicit where no control door is described.

Use the LEGO shelf-case guide for the receiving furniture and the measurement guide for complete profiles. Download the Ferris Wheel worksheet to keep the settled layout, wheel/control tasks, rear approach, labelled cavity, base footprint and handling restrictions together.

Common questions

Can a rear-door case sit directly against a wall?

Check whether its door and your intended hand approach remain usable there. The closed footprint alone does not establish control access at that location.

Does a control door mean the whole ride can be serviced inside?

Only the stated control-access task is established. Gondola access, boarding, scene changes and other handling require separate confirmation or the documented full opening routine.
