Choose a LEGO ECTO-1 display case by set number before comparing sizes. The large Ghostbusters ECTO-1 10274 and the car-and-motorbike set 75828 appear under similar search terms, but they create different display tasks. A smaller ECTO-1 case is not a compact alternative for the larger model.
For 10274, record the roof equipment, chosen gunner-seat and trap positions, and any display support. For 75828, decide whether the enclosure will hold the car alone or a group including the motorbike and characters. Keep that complete arrangement with the case enquiry.
10274 and 75828 need separate fit records
LEGO's 10274 description gives a reference over H22.5 × L47 × W16.5 cm. It identifies roof-mounted detection equipment, working steering, a trapdoor and an extending gunner seat. Those reference dimensions do not describe every extended feature or the model raised on an aftermarket support.
The official 75828 Ecto-1 and Ecto-2 page describes a car with a detachable roof, a separate motorbike, five minifigures and a Mayhem figure. It is another build, rather than the large 10274 with fewer accessories. The US description read for this guide does not supply a full numerical scene outline.
Check the number on the instructions or box against the actual case page. A red stripe, familiar logo or printed firehouse background cannot establish compatibility. If your build has modifications, keep the original number and describe the changes separately.
Choose a settled car or a complete character group
For 10274, decide how the car should look during everyday display. Record whether the seat stays retracted or forms an extended pose, and whether the trap remains stored or appears beside the vehicle. Include the tallest roof component and every retained projection in the complete outline.
A chosen extended pose and permission to operate the feature are different requirements. A case might receive the seat in one resting position without allowing its whole travel or providing room for a hand. Tell the supplier which of those tasks matters.
For 75828, draw the car, motorbike, figures and accessories as separate shapes. Decide which characters remain inside the car and which stand beside it. The iDisplayit title mentions both vehicles, while its description says the car or motorbike. Ask for confirmation of your whole group rather than interpreting the title as a combined-scene capacity statement.
Compare the target set and dimension boundary together
These descriptions were read in October 2026. The figures retain the makers' definitions and units. They are published specifications, not our measurements, fit tests or a ranking.
| Exact listing | Published size | Decision still needed |
|---|---|---|
| Wicked Brick 10274 | External W56 × D31 × H30.3 cm. | Angled presentation and tiered magnetic base. Obtain the actual supported outline and clear cavity. |
| Brickcessories 10274 | Assembled 530 × 230 × 260 mm. | Axes and inside/outside are unstated. Confirm both and the intended roof, seat and trap positions. |
| iDisplayit 75828 | Inside L32 × W15 × H13 cm; outside L34 × W17 × H14 cm. | Separate smaller set. Confirm whether the actual car-and-motorbike group, figures and accessories are covered. |
| BrickShell 10274 | H9 × W21 × D11 in; inside/outside unlabelled. | Interlocking panels and a printed-rear option do not define usable height or the routine opening. |
| Blacked Brick 10274 | External W53 × D24 × H25.2 cm. | A base cutout and plaque are described. Obtain the receiving layout and supported car position. |
Do not turn an assembled or external height into an interior by subtracting a panel thickness. A raised floor, locating feature, cover seat and support can change the relevant surfaces. Ask for the clear height above the surface that actually carries the model.
Likewise, do not rearrange an unlabelled tuple into length, width and height because the result looks plausible. Retain the source sequence until the supplier provides labelled arrows. The furniture check needs the complete external base footprint, separately from the cavity receiving the car.
A raised vehicle needs a supported-model outline
A display support changes both height and viewing angle. Confirm its exact version, where it is intended to contact the build and whether it is supplied with the selected case. A photograph of a raised car does not settle those package questions.
Wicked Brick describes an angled arrangement and a two-tier magnetic base. Blacked Brick describes a locating cutout. These are different interfaces; do not transfer one maker's car position or opening assumptions to another enclosure.
The authorized CubeBuff cover photograph illustrates one raised 10274 arrangement. It is not a demonstration that every case in the table includes that support or receives the same pose. Choose the support and complete vehicle outline before selecting a background.
A printed firehouse or landscape can suit the scene without documenting room for the roof equipment. Keep printed-rear choice separate from clearances, package contents and any claimed protective performance.

Roof access, seat travel and cover removal are separate tasks
Wicked Brick describes lifting the clear surround from its base and returning it to grooves. Check that route past the roof equipment and chosen seat pose, and reserve a place to set the surround down. Closed-case clearance under a shelf does not establish the space required to remove it.
The cited iDisplayit 75828 case instead describes eight screws joining the surrounding panels and a lid placed on top. Keep that construction with this exact product. Do not assume another case has the same removable top or repeatedly undo an assembly joint without its intended opening instructions.
Decide whether demonstrations happen after opening the display or after removing the model according to its instructions. This guide supplies no trap-release sequence, movement distance or approval to operate the car under a closed cover.
Use the ECTO-1 scene and access worksheet to record the exact set, support, feature states and missing definitions. The collection measurement guide covers the complete supported outline; the LEGO shelf case guide covers placement.
Common questions
Will a 75828 case fit the large 10274?
They are separate target builds. Use the exact product's documented compatibility and receiving dimensions; the shared ECTO-1 name is insufficient.
Does a photographed support come with the case?
Confirm the selected package and actual support version. Its appearance in an illustration is not an inclusion statement.
Does a closed scene fit prove the gunner seat can move?
No. Record the settled pose, feature movement and hand access as separate requirements for the chosen enclosure.
