LEGO Disney Castle Display Cases: 71040 and 43222

Compare cases for LEGO Disney Castle 71040 and 43222. Keep model and case sizes distinct, choose front or room views, and check fittings and opening.

LEGO Disney Castle Display Cases: 71040 and 43222

Choose a LEGO Disney Castle display case for the exact castle: 71040 or 43222. Then decide whether you want the front architecture, the accessible rooms or both in view. A fireworks background, an opaque rear panel and decorative front artwork can change that choice even when the enclosure is advertised for the correct set.

A shared Disney Castle name does not identify one footprint

Product categories can contain both large castles, Mini Disney Castle 40478 and other Disney buildings. Record the set number before choosing a size, background or base. A miniature castle product is another configuration, not a lower-priced version of an enclosure for a large model.

Two official castle references to keep separate
LEGO setDescriptive metric referenceRelevant display features
The Disney Castle 71040Over H74 × W48 × D31 cm.Front bridge and towers, accessible rooms, a removable roof portion and five included minifigures.
Disney Castle 43222Over H80 × W59 × D33 cm.Multi-level rooms, a spinning dance floor, rotating fireplace, time capsule and eight included minifigures.

These are published model references, not case interiors. They also do not measure a custom surrounding scene, extra characters or a lighting installation. Keep the metric values from the same description together rather than mixing rounded inch equivalents into a close-clearance calculation.

The Wicked Brick Disney category offers separate products for 71040 and 43222 among many other Disney sets. Its theme-level compatibility language does not replace the number on the individual listing.

Choose what you need to see before choosing the artwork

Draw the normal viewing position and mark the castle's front and the side from which you want to see the rooms. A display against a wall can favour the façade while making the back difficult to reach. A freestanding arrangement can offer more sightlines, provided the surrounding furniture and enclosure actually allow them.

A printed rear can provide a fireworks scene while obscuring the view through that panel. An all-clear rear provides a different viewing opportunity, but does not itself provide an access door. Choose the desired view and the opening method as separate decisions.

The Elevenmark premium 43222 case describes a fireworks backdrop, a lake-style printed base and line artwork on the front panel. The description also offers a mirrored versus printed base effect. Consider where that artwork will sit in your usual view, and confirm the exact supplied base version rather than assuming every surface stays transparent.

Do not add a rotating platform simply to recover a rear view unless the complete supported arrangement and furniture are specified for it. A customer photograph or comment is not a load rating, an approved turning system or a way to move a populated enclosure.

Keep model, cavity and finished outside dimensions distinct

These examples retain each listing's units and axis labels. They are published descriptions, not measurements by DisplayCasePro, a tested compatibility list or a ranking.

Case specifications separated by target castle and definition
Case and setPublished informationWhat to confirm
Wicked Brick 71040External W57 × D37 × H80.3 cm.Usable floor and clear height above the two-tier base, plus the intended castle and figure positions.
Flying Box 71040Case L21.5 × W14.5 × H31.5 in; base 22 × 15 in.The case line is not labelled inside/outside. Retain the separately stated base footprint and obtain the clear cavity.
Wicked Brick 43222W64 × D37 × H83.3 cm.The size line has no explicit inside/outside label. Confirm usable height with the actual tiered floor and fittings.
Brickcessories 43222Inside 644 × 364 × 840 mm; outside 656 × 376 × 847.5 mm.The sequences have inside/outside labels but no axis names in those lines. Request a labelled layout for the castle and selected accessories.
shopPOPdisplays P_21093, 43222Approximate external size including base H32.8 × W25.25 × D15 in.Obtain the clear cavity. The description expressly says LEGO studs and stand are not included.
Elevenmark premium 43222L64.3 × W36 × H87.5 cm.The line is not labelled inside/outside. Confirm usable dimensions and the actual rear, front-art and base configuration.

A taller external case does not automatically provide more clear height above the castle's resting surface. The base, add-on layer, fittings and cover seating all need their actual reference surfaces. Do not turn total height minus an assumed base thickness into a verified interior.

For the Flying Box product, use the full stated base when planning the furniture. For the Brickcessories product, keep both labelled sequences, but ask which axis is which before transferring the values to a shelf plan. Precision in a number does not supply a missing definition.

Check what holds the castle and where the figures belong

Wicked Brick's two castle products describe embedded studs and a plaque with a tiered magnetic base. For 43222, it distinguishes studs receiving the castle from additional front positions for the figures. Confirm that intended arrangement rather than assuming any point on the base is an available minifigure position.

shopPOPdisplays' 43222 product takes a different route: its description includes the black base but excludes LEGO studs and a stand. Do not assign it the fittings described by another maker or by shopPOPdisplays' unrelated Star Wars products.

Keep any extra scene explicit. Additional characters, a separate plaque or decorative landscaping may occupy space outside the maker's standard layout. Provide a complete plan and request confirmation instead of relying on the original set-fit statement.

Original castle display plan separating the front façade, accessible room side, minifigure area and route above the tallest tower
Front view, room view and opening space are separate decisions. Invented castle geometry does not reproduce a LEGO build, a supplied stud map or a tested cover clearance.

Plan the route over the tallest tower and into the rooms

The cited Wicked Brick products describe a clear surround that lifts from the base. Check that route at the intended location, including the space above the towers and somewhere to rest the surround. A shelf that receives the closed case can still prevent that operation.

If you intend to reach rooms, move a roof portion or use a play feature, establish the actual access sequence. Those operations are different from viewing a fixed façade through acrylic. The model's moving features do not establish that they can be operated while enclosed.

For another maker's case, obtain its own opening instructions. Snap-fit or ready-to-assemble describes construction, not necessarily the panel to remove for routine access. Keep the spires and projecting details clear of any panel or cover movement.

Use the blank Disney Castle case worksheet for set, viewing sides, supplied fittings, figure locations and opening. The collection measurement guide covers consistent reference surfaces, and the LEGO shelf-case guide covers the receiving furniture.

Common questions

Will a Disney Castle case fit either large castle?

Check the exact set statement. The cited makers distinguish 71040 and 43222, with different model references and case products.

Does a clear back provide access to the rooms?

It provides a viewing surface. Confirm the actual opening and hand approach separately.

Does every set-specific case include figure studs?

No universal package follows from the set number. The cited descriptions include both supplied-stud layouts and an explicit studs/stand exclusion.
