LEGO Artemis Display Cases: 10341, 42221 and Launch States

Choose an Artemis case by LEGO set and display state. Compare 10341 tower and Orion layouts with 42221 launch movement, paired cases and labelled interiors.

LEGO Artemis Display Cases: 10341, 42221 and Launch States

Choose a LEGO Artemis display case by set number and the state you want to leave on show. Icons 10341 has a mobile launch tower and an Orion display choice; Technic 42221 demonstrates staged launch movement. A shared Artemis name, or even a similar published maximum height, does not make their cases interchangeable.

10341 and 42221 describe different display systems

Official Artemis references with their stated configurations
LEGO modelPublished descriptive sizeConfiguration to record
Icons NASA Artemis Space Launch System 10341Over H70 × W27 × D30 cm.Rocket and mobile tower, retractable umbilicals, support and crew bridge; Orion can be inside the rocket or on its separate stand.
Technic NASA Artemis Space Launch System Rocket 42221Over H70 × L16 × W8 cm when the rocket is on top.Hand-crank mechanism showing three-stage separation, plus four astronaut nanofigures and an information panel.

The two 70 cm references do not describe one common closed outline. One belongs to the Icons system; the other explicitly carries a rocket-position condition. Keep that condition with the number rather than treating the two models as the same receiving task.

Record the number from your actual set and the complete arrangement you intend to enclose. A general NASA product category can also contain Saturn V, Apollo landers and Discovery. Their supports, component positions and opening questions should not be transferred to an Artemis display.

A settled scene is different from a launch demonstration

For 10341, choose the tower-arm state and whether Orion remains stowed or is shown separately. Include the full mobile tower and its projecting details in the resting outline. A rocket-only rectangle can omit the elements that determine the required floor area.

For 42221, record the actual settled position you want behind the cover. If you want to demonstrate its crank-driven separation, ask about that separate task and follow the exact model instructions. Space around one stationary arrangement does not establish the entire moving envelope or access to the crank.

The Kingdom Brick Supply 42221 case below lists an approximate internal height of 48.8 cm. That figure cannot receive a state more than 70 cm high, but it does not establish that every other configuration is incompatible. The missing information is which supported state the supplier intends and how it is placed in the case.

Keep the model and size definition in the same row

These actual search-result products were read on 17 October 2026. Four target 10341 and one targets 42221. The table preserves that mixed result rather than replacing the smaller-model product with a different listing. Published figures are not our physical fit tests or working-clearance measurements.

Wicked Brick 10341W35.5 × D37.4 × H72.3 cm.The line does not label inside/outside. Confirm usable space for the selected tower, rocket and Orion scene.
Brickcessories 10341Assembled 310 × 340 × 760 mm.Axes and inside/outside are unstated. Reconcile the selected rear option with the separate stand/background contents list.
Kingdom Brick Supply 42221Approximate internal L23.2 × W13.6 × H48.8 cm; external L24.7 × W15.1 × H49.4 cm.Confirm the intended resting launch state. The separate 28 × 16-stud reference is not a motion envelope.
iDisplayit 10341Internal L39 × W32 × H73 cm; external L41 × W34 × H74 cm.Check the complete composition against its separate 48 × 40-stud reference and actual opening routine.
Flying Box 10341, two-case packageBig L13.5 × W12.5 × H29 in; small L6.5 × W3.5 × H4 in. Bases: 14 × 13 in and 7 × 4 in.Inside/outside is not labelled. Identify what each case receives and plan both complete base footprints.

The 73 cm iDisplayit interior against an official reference over 70 cm high is not a verified three-centimetre operating allowance. It does not describe an extended tower arm, a hand reaching the rocket or an Orion stand in a new position. Keep those arrangements in the same configuration record.

Likewise, Brickcessories' 760 mm assembled line is not automatically a taller clear cavity than another product. Ask for labelled axes and reference surfaces. Its description offers clear, black or printed rears while a separate contents list names a stand and UV-printed background; confirm the exact selected package.

A separate Orion display changes the receiving scene

LEGO describes 10341's Orion with foldout solar panels and an option for a separate stand. Decide which panel and support state you intend to show. Record the complete supported component rather than use the capsule body alone as the outline.

For one enclosure, mark the tower, rocket, Orion stand and plaque as separate shapes in a plan. Identify the viewing direction and check whether a printed rear suits it. A clear gap in a photograph is not a dimensioned receiving position for the detached component.

Flying Box explicitly describes two cases in the package and gives each a larger separate base. If you intend the small enclosure for Orion, ask which supported and panel state it receives. Its six-and-a-half-inch case length alone does not establish that particular fit.

Plan both bases on the furniture. Do not add their quoted dimensions into one supposed case interior or support the big enclosure according to its smaller upper rectangle. Each component also needs its own opening and resting-place record.

Original Artemis planning diagram separating Icons tower and Orion, Technic resting and raised states, and the relevant case question
Keep the exact model and settled state attached to the enclosure. Invented shapes are not actual LEGO geometry, crank travel, Orion support or a tested case specification.

Resolve opening before placing the complete display

Wicked Brick describes lifting the clear case from its base. iDisplayit describes fourteen fittings, a secured top and a complete surround placed over the model. Obtain each selected enclosure's actual access method, including the route past the tower and rocket and a resting place for the surround.

iDisplayit expressly says its 10341 case is not designed to be relocated with LEGO inside. The cited Kingdom Brick Supply 42221 description does not state that same restriction; do not silently copy it across products or infer permission to carry a loaded display from its absence.

Use the Artemis model and state worksheet to retain the number, resting state, Orion position, paired-case contents and unknown dimensions. The LEGO shelf-case guide covers the final furniture; the measuring guide covers the complete arrangement.

Common questions

Does an Artemis case fit either set?

Check 10341 or 42221 and the intended state. The shared name does not establish common supports, footprints or moving clearance.

Does the 48.8 cm case prove the 42221 listing is wrong?

It does not receive a more-than-70 cm state, but the supplier's intended settled configuration remains unresolved. Obtain that arrangement before making a wider compatibility conclusion.

Can the launch mechanism operate inside the case?

No complete operating envelope is established by these closed dimensions. Resolve demonstrations separately with the exact model and enclosure instructions.

Illustrations are original planning diagrams. No protective performance, fit, mechanism operation or loaded handling was tested for this guide.
