The LEGO A-Frame Cabin 21338 offers more than one landscape: its trees can stand around the cabin or form a connected group to the side. Choose a display case for the arrangement you want, including the canoe and figures, then establish how the roof will be removed. The cabin's own size is only one part of that decision.
Choose where the three trees and canoe belong
LEGO's 21338 description identifies three trees that can be placed separately around the cabin or connected into a small island, along with a canoe. The steep roof detaches to reveal the interior. Those choices create a landscape and access task beyond enclosing an A-shaped building.
Arrange the completed scene as you want to see it. Record the outer branches, canoe, figures and any added surroundings from above and from the main viewing side. Do not let the cabin's walls become the only width and depth reference.
| Scene choice | Record before selecting the case | Question for the maker |
|---|---|---|
| Trees around the cabin | The full spread on each side, including the furthest foliage and canoe. | Does the intended base arrangement receive these exact positions? |
| Connected tree group to one side | The combined cabin, tree island and remaining visible spaces. | Which orientation and canoe position are supported by this case layout? |
| Interior on view | The roof state and where any removed part will be presented or stored. | Must the case cover come off before removing the roof? |
| Printed landscape | The selected base graphic and background, separately from brick-built scenery. | Which printed parts are included and how are they supplied? |
Keep the exact set number with that record. A Tree House, a different cabin or a custom woodland build may share trees and an outdoor theme while having a different base and opening arrangement. The comparison here concerns five listings specifically naming 21338.
LEGO's two size blocks should not be silently combined
The official descriptive line gives the buildable cabin model as over H24 × W21 × D22 cm. Its dimensions card separately shows H28 × W44 × D22 cm. These are different published references, not numbers to mix into one more convenient specification.
The cited page does not explain the exact configuration behind the difference. Do not label the wider card as a measured guarantee for every tree arrangement or discard the taller reference because the cabin text is smaller. Keep both blocks attributed and compare the completed intended scene with the maker's labelled receiving plan.
This is especially relevant when a case offers fixed positions. Ask the supplier to show the cabin, all three trees and canoe in the arrangement its compatibility statement covers. A plan that accounts for those components is more useful than a general assertion that the set fits.
Read the five case dimensions with their own boundaries
The following supplier descriptions were read on 17 October 2026. They are published references, not our measurements or fit tests. Four entries explicitly distinguish an outside size or an inside/outside pair; another supplies only an unclassified assembled sequence.
| Exact case | Published size | Detail to retain |
|---|---|---|
| Brickcessories 21338 | Assembled case 470 × 330 × 290 mm. | Axes and inside/outside are not labelled. Clear, black or printed rear options; obtain the intended full landscape. |
| Wicked Brick 21338, LDS497.1.7 | External W49.5 × D31.5 × H31.3 cm. | Two-tier base with embedded studs, lift-off cover and optional lakeside background. Request the actual receiving positions. |
| iDisplayit 21338 | Internal L52 × W32 × H30 cm; external L54 × W34 × H31 cm. | Description expressly accommodates trees around the cabin or connected to one side; optional printed floor and rear scene. |
| Blacked Brick 21338 | External W50 × D37 × H31 cm. | Model cut-out and front minifigure studs. Establish which landscape arrangement the cut-out is designed to receive. |
| Kingdom Brick Supply 21338 | Approximate internal L48.8 × W32.8 × H29.6 cm; external L50.3 × W34.3 × H30.5 cm. | Separate 60 × 40-stud area. Confirm the complete scene and support surface rather than use that count as a foliage outline. |
Brickcessories' 290 mm figure should not be assumed to be clear interior height simply because it appears last. Ask for the axes and receiving surfaces. Likewise, Wicked Brick's 31.3 cm outside height cannot be ranked directly against iDisplayit's 30 cm interior as if they measured the same space.
Keep each finished exterior in the furniture plan. The tree layout belongs to the cavity comparison; the entire base and surround belong to the shelf comparison. An advertised sheet thickness does not identify enough layers and joints to calculate a missing interior accurately.
A cut-out, locating studs and printed scenery do different jobs
Blacked Brick describes a cut-out that receives the model and separate studs for figures. Ask for a labelled view showing the intended tree positions relative to that cut-out. Do not assume a base made for 21338 is an unrestricted floor on which every island arrangement can be shifted freely.
Wicked Brick describes a two-tier black base joined by magnets and embedded locating studs. That is a case-base construction detail, not evidence that magnets attach to the cabin or that the whole landscape should be carried by the base. Its optional lakeside rear graphic is a separate choice.
iDisplayit's full description is unusually useful here because it expressly addresses both tree arrangements. It also describes a printed riverside floor and woodland rear option, with printed elements pre-applied. Confirm the selected version: its displayed choices and the wider prose do not list base colors in exactly the same way.

Remove the outer enclosure before assuming roof access
A detachable model roof does not mean it can be lifted beneath the inner case top. Establish the order of access for the selected enclosure. Check the cover's complete route past the foliage and roof before planning how to reach the cabin interior.
Wicked Brick describes lifting the clear cover from the base. iDisplayit describes assembling a surround that fits over its base. In either case, identify a suitable resting place for the removed surround and then a separate place for the cabin roof. Do not balance either against the trees.
If you expect to rearrange the tree island often, include that routine in the enquiry. Ask which locating features are intended to be released and how the maker expects the full scene to be accessed. Flat-pack delivery describes initial assembly, not necessarily a panel designed for repeated removal.
Kingdom Brick Supply expressly says its case is not designed for relocation with the model inside. Plan the completed display's location before enclosing the landscape. Use the LEGO shelf display guide for the outside footprint and opening space.
The blank cabin landscape worksheet preserves both official references, your actual scene, the chosen base and the roof-removal routine. The collection measurement guide covers the general outline method. This comparison does not verify UV performance, complete dust exclusion or carrying capacity.
Common questions
Can I order using the cabin's 21 cm width?
Include the trees, canoe and chosen scenery. The official page also supplies a different dimensions card, whose configuration is not fully explained by the cited text.
Which listing expressly discusses the two tree arrangements?
iDisplayit's description names trees around the cabin and a connected group to the side. Confirm your exact arrangement and selected version rather than extend that statement to another maker.
Does a printed floor add brick-built scenery?
It is a graphic option. Record the supplied print separately from the actual trees, canoe and any added components occupying the case.
