Choose a Warhammer display case around the models’ complete scenic bases, projecting weapons and the way squads return to the gaming table. A foam-lined display, a steel floor for magnetized bases and a modular case with optional ferrous sheets are different systems. Decide what must stay together before comparing nominal army capacity.
A squad, an army and a scenic board need different receivers
List the models that will occupy one display unit, including their actual bases and retained scenery. A faction name or game points total does not specify a physical footprint. Separate infantry groups from a tall character, broad-winged model, flyer, vehicle or finished scenic board when their receiving needs differ.
Record the complete settled outlines. Weapons may project beyond base rims, and a banner or flying support may determine height. Several circular bases fitting on paper does not establish space for the models above them or the route needed to remove the rear row.
Choose whether the army remains in a composed display or whether individual squads leave regularly for games. If a tray moves as one unit, record that tray and its intended handling method. Do not make a decorative terrain edge, weapon or miniature into an assumed lifting point.
Foam, steel and optional iron sheets do different jobs
The following original descriptions were read on 18 October 2026. They document system components and questions to resolve, not DisplayCasePro load, retention-force, UV, dust or transport tests.
| System | Documented floor arrangement | Confirm before selection |
|---|---|---|
| Wicked Brick stackable case | 3 mm foam insert over a 5 mm acrylic base; magnets locate the clear case. | Complete group, usable height above the insert and access instructions. |
| Cobalt Keep Kingdom | Clear polycarbonate cover with an integrated steel plate, optimized for its magnet-ready bases. | Actual model bases and the specified magnetic system. |
| Crystal Fortress modular system | Cases and covers with separate layout accessories; an optional iron sheet accepts already magnetized miniatures. | Exact case, cover, sheet and base components included in the order. |
Wicked Brick’s selected leaf describes the foam as reducing slipping. Its recessed base magnets secure the case, so they should not be presented as magnets holding each miniature. A wider Warhammer collection also lists separate plaques, plinths and a podium; those accessories do not all include an enclosing cover.
The Cobalt Keep shop identifies cases, a carrying strap and a shelf as separate items. An integrated steel floor does not confirm the suitability of every existing magnet or adhesive beneath a custom scenic base. Keep the exact base system and manufacturer’s instructions with the enquiry.
Crystal Fortress’s iron sheet is a separate 1.27 mm ferrous-vinyl accessory with adhesive backing. The described sizes correspond to Humpback, Orca and Beluga receivers. It is a receiving surface for already magnetized miniatures, rather than a supplied magnet for every base. Confirm the selected package; this guide provides no base-drilling or magnet-installation recipe.
Keep published boundaries and added floor layers explicit
| Source | Published record | Unresolved receiving detail |
|---|---|---|
| Wicked Brick WHDS2085.1.7 | Inside W440 × D73 × H94 mm; outside W456 × D89 × H100 mm. | Whether the clear height is measured above the fitted foam; complete weapons and banners. |
| Cobalt Keep Kingdom | H6.25 × W12.5 × D5.5 inches; inside/outside unlabelled. | Usable floor, clear height and cover-removal route. |
| Crystal Fortress homepage | 2-inch and 4-inch case choices; covers are separate named components. | Exact combined receiving drawing, handle version and any floor layer. |
The Wicked Brick interior is shallow in depth compared with its width. Use both dimensions when planning rows; a wide front view does not establish room for deep scenic bases or long weapons. Obtain the finished-floor definition rather than automatically subtracting foam thickness from an ambiguously referenced height.
Cobalt Keep’s Kingdom dimensions retain their original labels, but the read leaf does not define them as inside dimensions. Crystal Fortress’s nominal case heights likewise do not substitute for a complete case-and-cover drawing. A layout layer or ferrous sheet becomes part of the finished receiving arrangement.
Keep scenic bases with the models above them

Include the final rim, tufts, rocks and overhanging equipment in each record. The photograph illustrates why a base and the miniature above it are separate outlines. Its painting handles are working supports, not evidence of the floor or tray used in a permanent display.
Make a paper layout with the complete outlines and the view you want: characters may occupy the foreground, while tall banners or vehicles can sit where they remain visible without blocking access. Keep a special scenic board as one complete object if its composition is meant to remain intact.
Plan the route from the display to the table
The selected Wicked Brick stackable leaf specifies removable front and top panels. Decide which opening the complete squad uses, including any tray. Confirm the instructions for that exact stack; removing a front panel and lifting off an entire cover are different routines.
For a magnetic system, resolve how individual models are released and which parts may be handled using the product instructions. Magnetic retention wording does not establish that a case can be tilted, inverted or transported by any convenient edge. Confirm the loaded handling and carrying accessories separately.
Crystal Fortress’s iron-sheet page explicitly says not to stack its products higher than 17.5 inches. Retain that system limit; it is not a weight rating or permission to exceed a particular case’s instructions. The read Wicked Brick leaf provides no numeric loaded stacking limit to transfer from another brand.
An army cabinet is also a furniture and lighting decision
Tabletop Battles’ contributor account describes unused vertical space, added shelves and risers, and upper displays blocking light below. Its personal clamp-and-shelf project is not a manufacturer’s load assessment or confirmation that the named cabinet is currently available. Use documented furniture and shelf instructions for your own installation.
The Warhammer Community announcement dated 3 April 2024 describes the licensed Wicked Brick launch, foam inserts and optional artwork. Treat its launch count as dated context, rather than today’s complete range or an independent performance test of the same partner’s products.
Use the Warhammer floor and squad-access worksheet to record the chosen system and missing definitions. The measurement guide covers consistent complete outlines before comparing a receiving drawing.
