Choose a LEGO Statue of Liberty display case for the complete 21042 monument: pedestal, nameplate, crown and raised torch. A tall outer case dimension does not state the clear height above its finished base. Compare the receiving floor as carefully as the cover, especially when choosing between studs, a shaped cut-out and a plain base.
The raised torch belongs in the full outline
The official 21042 description gives dimensions of over H44 × W14 × D14 cm. It identifies the detailed pedestal, flowing robe, broken shackles, seven-ray crown, tablet, raised golden torch and nameplate. Use that record to identify the set, while keeping its rounded “over” dimensions separate from an exact case-fit drawing.
Record the complete built model on its retained support. The torch sets a different height point from the top of the crown, and the pedestal and plate define a lower footprint. Do not omit the nameplate because the statue itself appears narrow in a photograph.
If you have added lighting, a replacement base or surrounding scenery, record those additions explicitly. A receiver named for standard 21042 does not establish room for the modified assembly or its connections.
Five listings use different dimension boundaries
Sources were checked on 18–19 October 2026. Blacked Brick and shopPOPdisplays blocked direct page retrieval; their original descriptions were read through ordinary web results reported as last month and nine months ago respectively. Retain that recency limit when requesting current drawings and contents. These are source comparisons, not DisplayCasePro fitting or performance tests.
| Source | Published record | Clarify for the order |
|---|---|---|
| Wicked Brick | External W20.2 × D20.2 × H47.5 cm. | Clear height above the finished locating base. |
| Blacked Brick | External W20 × D20 × H45 cm. | Interior and exact shaped-base version. |
| iDisplayit | Inside L21 × W21 × H47 cm; outside L23 × W23 × H48 cm. | Finished floor datum and selected black or white base. |
| shopPOPdisplays | Approximately H19 × W9 × D9 inches, external including base. | Usable cavity and exact plain-base contents. |
| Brick In It | W19 × D19 × H47 cm; inside/outside unlabelled. | Labelled interior and complete outer base. |
Subtracting LEGO’s rounded 44 cm reference from Blacked Brick’s 45 cm external height would not produce a verified 1 cm of headroom. The case record includes an outer boundary, and the model record says “over.” Request the clear height from the actual receiving surface to the inside top.
The iDisplayit record separates inside and outside sizes, which helps distinguish receiving space from shelf footprint. Still retain the exact base choice and any locating component in the enquiry. Do not deduct another maker’s base thickness from these labelled figures.
Studs, cut-outs and plain bases locate the monument differently
| Receiver | Documented detail | Practical selection question |
|---|---|---|
| Wicked Brick | Two-tier 10 mm base joined by magnets; embedded studs; lift-off surround returning to grooves. | Which studs locate the complete model, and how does it release? |
| Blacked Brick | Shaped base cut-out; clear or printed rear. | Does the selected cut-out retain the original plate and full pedestal? |
| iDisplayit | Black or white base options. | What locating detail and access routine apply to that version? |
| shopPOPdisplays | Base cut-out explicitly not included; 1/8-inch clear cover and assembly hardware. | How is the model positioned on the supplied plain floor? |
| Brick In It | 3 mm Perspex panels, 5 mm gloss-black base and metal corner cubes. | Which panel opens routinely, and what locates the model? |
The magnets in Wicked Brick’s two-tier base join case components. They do not establish a magnetic attachment to the LEGO model. Likewise, a shaped cut-out, embedded studs and a plain floor should not be described as the same retention system.
shopPOPdisplays’ ready-to-assemble description includes hardware and a screwdriver. Its flat-packed shipping format says how the empty product is delivered; it does not approve carrying the completed case with the monument inside.
Retain the pedestal details and the nameplate

The pedestal photograph shows architectural projections above a black border and a readable front nameplate. Keep the complete border and plate in your floor plan, rather than tracing only the tan central mass. For a locating cut-out, obtain the selected base drawing instead of designing a cut-out from the photograph.
A dark floor may visually continue the nameplate border, while a light floor changes the contrast around it. Compare that effect from the intended viewing position, keeping the front label visible. Neither colour choice establishes a better physical fit.
Choose which sculpture details face the viewer
Set the preferred front view before choosing a printed rear. The tablet, robe and pedestal details may read differently from a slight side view, while the raised torch must remain inside the confirmed outline. A clear rear can preserve more sight lines when the case is viewed from several directions.
Check the intended shelf height with the whole model represented. A narrow monument placed above eye level can leave the pedestal edge prominent while reducing the view of the statue. Move the proposed display location or viewing direction before assuming a different case height solves the composition.
Allow the cover to clear the torch without using it as a handle
Confirm whether the selected case has a lift-off surround or a removable panel, and reserve the actual route required by its instructions. A tall resting enclosure and the space needed to remove its cover are separate requirements. Establish where the removed surround will rest.
Ask how the model releases from the selected studs or locating floor and which parts may be handled. Do not plan to lift the whole monument by its raised torch or crown. The published model height supplies no handling instruction or universal cover-lift distance.
Use the 21042 pedestal and torch worksheet to record the exact case, rear and floor. The measurement guide explains consistent receiving boundaries before ordering.
