LEGO Defender 90 Display Cases: 10317 Gear and Stance

Choose a display case for LEGO Land Rover Classic Defender 90 10317. Keep roof gear, the selected build and angled support together when comparing case sizes.

LEGO Defender 90 Display Cases: 10317 Gear and Stance

Choose a LEGO Land Rover Classic Defender 90 display case for the actual 10317 build you will display. A clean Estate, an off-road version carrying roof equipment and a vehicle tilted on a supplied stem have different outlines. Keep the fitted gear, settled stance and exact support in the same record before choosing an enclosure.

The official dimensions explicitly describe the clean version

LEGO’s official 10317 specification gives the clean model as over H16 × L32 × W16 cm, also written as over H6 × L12.5 × W6 in. The clean-version qualifier matters. It does not establish the maximum height of the roof rack, roll cage, snorkel and every fitted off-road accessory.

The same description identifies functioning steering and suspension, opening doors and hood, engine choices and three hood options. Decide which build and equipment actually remain on your vehicle. A familiar sand-green Defender photograph is not enough to identify that complete configuration.

Make the roof load a deliberate part of the view. If you prefer the clean roofline, give removed equipment a separate storage record. If tools and other loose items will sit beside the vehicle, include their positions on the display floor rather than assuming the information-plaque area is spare space.

Record the vehicle as it rests on its chosen support

Three Defender arrangements to keep distinct

Keep steering and suspension in a settled display state. A wheel turned toward the viewer or a vehicle held at an angle can change the furthest point you need to enclose. Record that state without forcing the model against a panel or assuming that every product was specified with the same stance.

Roof equipment and the support also affect the viewing angle. A raised side may make the underside and opposite roof edge more prominent, while a printed rear can obscure the far side. Choose the details you want visible before choosing the background.

Most quoted sizes still need a clear interior definition

These five supplier descriptions were read on 18 October 2026. The comparison preserves their original measurement boundaries. It does not report physical fitting, load, dust or UV tests by DisplayCasePro.

Five 10317 case specifications
Exact casePublished sizeInformation still needed
Wicked Brick 10317W40 × D25 × H27.3 cm; boundary unlabelled.Clear cavity and the complete vehicle on its included angled stem.
Flying Box 10317L16 × W9.5 × H10 in; boundary unlabelled.Usable space, base datum and intended vehicle configuration.
Brickcessories 10317Assembled 430 × 250 × 245 mm; axes and boundary unlabelled.Axis-labelled inside drawing and selected rear panel.
Brick In It 10317Product W41 × D21 × H26 cm; boundary unlabelled.Clear cavity and actual supported or wheel-level arrangement.
Blacked Brick 10317External W42 × D27 × H25.2 cm.Cavity above its locating base and the equipped build received.

Flying Box describes 1/8-inch clear acrylic and 1/4-inch black acrylic, but does not label its size line as interior. Brickcessories describes a glossy black base, clear or black rear and aluminum corner brackets. Its assembled tuple should not quietly become a cavity with known axes.

Brick In It specifies 3 mm clear Perspex, a 5 mm gloss-black base and metal corner cubes. Those construction details do not establish the clear height over the finished base or prove that every roof-equipment combination fits. Keep its product dimensions separate from Blacked Brick’s explicitly external figures.

A side-step stem is a product-specific receiving system

Wicked Brick’s description explicitly includes a stem that cradles the underside of the model’s side steps, holding the vehicle at an angle. It also describes a magnet-connected 5 mm plus 5 mm base, a plaque and a lift-off surround.

Request the intended support placement and complete supported outline. The clean model’s reference height plus an assumed stem height cannot supply those dimensions. The published text does not give a numerical angle or a contact drawing, and a stem designed for this vehicle is not a generic support for another car.

Blacked Brick instead describes a locating cutout in its base. That wording does not document the same side-step stem or an angled arrangement. Confirm which configuration its cutout receives before adding a separate stand.

Choose a roof view that you can maintain and reach

A roof rack full of equipment may deserve a higher viewing position; an open hood offers another focal point. Decide which features remain in a settled pose and which will be demonstrated only after opening the case. A case that receives the vehicle at rest has not necessarily been checked for the whole door or hood sweep.

For a lift-off surround, confirm its path past the roof load and any raised panel, then reserve somewhere for it to wait. For the other products, obtain their own opening instructions. Screwed corner construction is not evidence of a convenient front door.

Keep any stacking plan attached to the exact product and instructions. A named compatible case family does not give a general loaded rating or approve an arbitrary mixed stack. Settle the intended location and routine access before filling the enclosure.

Use the Defender build, equipment and support worksheet alongside the collection measurement guide. Record unresolved receiving dimensions rather than treating the clean-car reference as an equipped-car guarantee.

Common questions

Does the official 16 cm height include every off-road accessory?

The cited specification labels its reference as the clean version. Record the actual roof equipment, projections and chosen support before checking an enclosure.

Do all five cases include the same angled stem?

No common stem is established. One listing explicitly describes side-step support; another names a base cutout. Confirm the supplied package and intended vehicle position for each case.
